The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has named Geneseo's Elise Ramirez (Nesconset, N.Y.) the Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for the third time this season.

Ramirez finished 20th out of 332 runners to lead No. 4 Geneseo to third place out of 36 teams at the Cowbell Classic, hosted by Principia (Ill.), Saturday. The field included 16 teams ranked in the top-35 of the most recent national polls, including seven of the top-10 squads. Ramirez covered the 6-kilometer course, which will be the site of the NCAA Division III Championships next month, with a time of 22:05.57.
