The SUNYAC Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) along with other Division III SAACs started a partnership with Special Olympics in the 2011-12 academic year.  The affiliation between the two organizations is part of a NCAA Division III initiative that was put into place by the Division III Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) at the NCAA Convention in January 2011.
