BUFFALO, N.Y.— Bryn Athyn scored two goals in the third period, including an empty-net goal with 31 seconds left, to skate past host Buffalo State, 5-3, in non-conference action to close out the weekend series.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lions struck first, for the second-consecutive day, scoring a short-handed goal at the 16:51 mark of the first period.
- Buffalo State evened the score just under two minutes later as A.J. Marinelli (Amherst/Kenmore East) notched his first collegiate goal off an assist by Ben Butcher (Bellingham, WA/Langley) to level the score at 1-1 after 20 minutes of action.
- The Bengals claimed their first lead of the contest three minutes into the second frame, as Anthony Tulipane (Buffalo/Kenmore East) scored his fourth of the season on assists by Andrew Logar (Niagara Falls/Niagara-Wheatfield) and Reid Bibb (Gaithersburg/Gaithersburg).
- After Bryn Athyn evened the score again at the midway point of the period, Buffalo State recaptured the lead as Butcher scored a power-play goal for his second of the season on assists from Sam Maddox (St. Louis, MO/Lindburgh) and Marinelli.
