ASTON, PA. – The Cortland men's hockey team extended its unbeaten streak to five games (4-0-1) with a 3-1 non-conference victory at Neumann Friday night. The Red Dragons evened their record at 7-7-1, while the Knights fell to 4-11.

Sean Perichak (Oakville, ON/Markham Royals) led Cortland with a goal and an assist. Senior
Douglas Elgstam (Stockholm, Sweden/New Jersey Rockets) and sophomore
Ethan Homitz (Allison Park, PA/New Hampshire Monarchs) each netted a goal, and juniors
Louis DiMatteo (Nobleton, ON/Trenton Golden Hawks) and
Alex Storjohann (Phoenix, AZ/Kirkland Lake), sophomore
Hayden Hart (Potsdam/Smiths Falls Bears) and freshman
Luca Esposito (Bolton, ON/Markham Royals) collected one assist apiece. Senior goalie
Nick Modica (Suffern/New Jersey Hitmen) turned aside 21 shots.
Barry Kneedler scored for Neumann with Mario Tropea and Ryan Meyer assisting on the goal. Goalie Kyle Pantelone made 41 saves.
Perichak gave Cortland a 1-0 lead with a power-play goal 23 seconds before the end of the first period. Kneedler tied the game at 3:05 of the second period. Homitz netted his team-high 10th goal of the season just 33 seconds into the third period to put the Red Dragons back in front, 2-1. Just before the midway point of the period, Cortland killed off a five-minute major and Elgstam netted an insurance goal with an empty-net score at 19:36 for the 3-1 final.
