CORTLAND, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State swim teams competed in Day 1 of the Cortland Invite on Friday evening. The women saw two first-place finishes in the weekend's first eight events. The men received one first.

Erin Kalsman took the 200-yard IM in a time of 2:18.07. McKayla Polowy was first in the 500 free in a time of 5:22.76.

Kyle Copper of the men's squad turned in a time of 1:56.77 in the 200 butterfly.

The eight-team invite concludes on Saturday. The Fredonia men currently sit in third place, with the women in fifth place.
