Pratt's Career-High 23 Points not Enough in Loss to Oneonta

Oneonta, NY – The SUNY Brockport women's basketball team fell to Oneonta, 73-65, on the road Friday as the team's win streak is halted at three games. The loss puts Brockport's record at 9-11 overall and 6-7 in the SUNYAC.
 
Bailey Pratt led all scorers on the night with a career-high 23 points in the contest, shooting 6-for-13 from beyond the arc. Pratt has now hit six shots from long range and scored at least 20 points in back-to-back contests.
 
Julianna Taylor was the other double-digit scorer for the Green and Gold, as she finished with 14 points and five assists. Erin Radack had seven points off the bench, going 2-for-2 at the foul line and 1-for-1 from downtown.
 
The two teams traded baskets for most of the first quarter until the Red Dragons earned a slight edge, ending the first with a 13-8 lead. A pair of back-to-back scores for Brockport made it a two-point game in the first minute of the second quarter. A Juliana Taylor jumper gave the Golden Eagles their first lead of the game with 1:29 left until halftime. A late 3-pointer secured a 30-27 lead for Oneonta at the mid-game break.
 
Bailey Pratt would get hot in the third quarter, scoring 13 of her game-high 23 in the period. A series of long-range shots and some strong free throw shooting from Pratt, helped give Brockport a 50-47 advantage going in to the fourth. The score was tied at 52-52 with 7:15 left on the clock before Oneonta started to go on a run. The Red Dragons took a seven-point lead with less than four minutes in regulation. Brockport was unable to recapture the lead, taking the eight-point loss on the road.
 
Pratt scored 17 of her career-high 23 points in the second half, shooting 4-for-8 from beyond the arc in the final two quarters. Brockport shot well at the free throw line as a whole, going 21-for-29 at the line.
 
The Golden Eagles will look to bounce back on Saturday with another road matchup against New Paltz. The game will tip-off at 2 pm.
