ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Oswego State men's ice hockey team defeated the Nazareth Golden Flyers on the road by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday night to end a four-game skid.  Senior David Richer made 24 saves while allowing just a lone power play goal to move Oswego back above .500 at 8-7.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• After a scoreless first period, Oswego struck first at 5:41 of the second as sophomore Travis Broughman scored his team-leading tenth goal of the season on assists by Josh Zizek (6) and Tanner Spink (4).
• Nazareth tied it up via the power-play at 8:03 of the period on a goal by sophomore Cole Moore.
• Then it was time for the senior leaders to step up as Anthony Passero scored four minutes later to put the Lakers back in front.
• Passero's goal was assisted by Max Novick (10) and Mitch Emerson (7).  
• Zizek concluded the scoring with a goal late in the period on assists from Broughman (7) and Spink (5).
• As has been the case in most games this year, Oswego out-shot the opposition, 32-25, and won the faceoff battle, 29-20, behind Zizek's 14 faceoff wins.
• Senior Derek Brown was active in the game with four shots-on-goal and winning 6-of-9 faceoffs.
• Richer earns his seventh win of the season while Passero and Broughman are tied again for the team points lead with 17.

Oswego jumps back into conference action when they head down to Cortland on Friday, January 24 for a 7 p.m. puck drop.  The Lakers defeated the Red Dragons at home in their season opener by a score of 6-3.
