OSWEGO, N.Y. – The SUNY Potsdam swimming and diving teams traveled to Oswego State this Saturday to compete in their regular season finale. The men fell to the Lakers 176-101. The women fell 166-117.Â

Samantha Coombs (Jamesville, N.Y./Jamesville-Dewitt) led the Bears women with three individual victories. Coombs claimed first place in the 200 Free (2:01.47), the 50 Free (25.57) and 100 Free (55.54). Coombs also teamed up with senior captain
Iris Curtis (Lewiston, N.Y./Niagara Wheatfield), senior captain
Allison Medley (Watertown, N.Y./Watertown) and junior
Cassandra Hunter (Castleton, N.Y./Maple Hill) to claim first in the 200 Medley Relay (1:58.52). Curtis also won the 100 Backstroke (1:04.83) and was second in the 200 Backstroke (2:23.86). Medley won the 200 Breaststroke (2:37.66) and finished second in the 100 Breaststroke (1:14.81). Junior
Emily Pitz (Langrangeville, N.Y./Millbrook) earned two individual victories in the 200 Butterfly (2:20.27) and the 100 Butterfly (1:04.01). The women ended their day with Curtis, Pitz and Hunter joining sophomore
Brianna Iverson (Antwerp, N.Y./Indian River) to take second in the 200 Free Relay, finishing less than one second behind the Oswego team with a time of 1:50.10.

Ryan Hagadorn (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) led the Bears men with two individual victories. Hagadorn was first in the 100 Breaststroke (59.56) and the 200 Breaststroke (2:16.98). Hagadorn teamed with sophomore
Jake McCormack (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Poughkeepsie), junior
Andrew McEwen (Macedon, N.Y./Palmyra-Macedon) and junior
William Stephens III (Medina, N.Y./Medina) to place second in the 200 Medley Relay (1:41.86). McCormack came back to win the 100 Backstroke (58.71) and was second in the 200 Backstroke (2:10.41). Junior
Nicolas Haines (Middletown, N.Y./Middletown) was second in the 500 Free (5:20.52). Sophomore
Davin Butler (Queensbury, N.Y./Queensbury) won the 100 Butterfly (56.80) and was second in both the 200 Butterfly (2:09.27) and the 200 IM (2:11.69). The men ended their day with Hagadorn, McCormack, Stephens and McEwen teaming up a second time to compete in the 200 Free Relay, where they finished second with a time of 1:32.23.

The Bears are back in action when they travel to Buffalo to compete in the SUNYAC Championships from February 19 – 23.
