Swimming & Diving Teams Fly by Golden Eagles

OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego men's and women's swimming and diving teams both took victories against the Golden Eagles of Brockport this afternoon. The men took first place in 12 out of the 16 events while the women took first in 11 out of 16 events.  The men posted a final score of 177-110 while the women take the matchup by a score of 168-125.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Ryan Kreuser took first in the 200-yard medley relay, as well as a first-place finish in the 400-yard free relay along with Steven Cooley, Alex Davie and Walker Snowden.
  • Nick Weber took first in the 200-yard free and the 500-yard free. Weber won the 500-yard free by over ten seconds.
  • Walker Snowden also took first in the 100-yard free, 100-yard fly, along with the 400-yard free relay as noted above.
  • Other event winners include Zachary Brown (100-yard breaststroke), Joseph Weinhofer (200-yard fly) and Nate Einstein (200-yard breaststroke).
  • The women won 11 out of their 16 events, posting a final score of 168-125.
  • Julia Lamb took home three first place finishes including the 1,000-yard free (11:42:25), the 500-yard free (5:39.67), and the group event 400-yard free with Keaton Maring, Kayla Merrill, and Kelsey Oliverio.
  • Eva Potvin took first in the 100-yard breaststroke and placed second in the 200-yard breast with a time of 2:47.34.
  • The Lakers dominated the diving events as Megan Maquet takes the 1-meter diving event and the 3-meter diving event.
  • Also winning their respective events were Grace Parente (200-yard fly), Emily Ross (200-yard breaststroke), Oliverio (100-yard fly) and Merrill 200-yard backstroke).
WHAT'S NEXT

Both the men's and women's teams will travel to Cortland for the Snow Flurries Invitational at 5 p.m. on Friday December 6.
