Golden Eagles Drop 74-52 Loss to the Bearcats in Opening Day of Saint Vincent Tournament

LATROBE, PA – The College at Brockport women's basketball team picked up their first road loss of the year Thursday evening in the opening day of the Saint Vincent Tournament. The Golden Eagles fell at the hands of the tournament host, Saint Vincent College 74-52. The teams record falls to 3-5 overall with Hartwick College ahead tomorrow.

Highlights:
 
  • Kylee Rosbrook and Anna Felice led the Golden Eagles offense against the Bearcats, posting eight points apiece.
  • Rosbrook sank four of five from the floor while also grabbing four rebounds while Felice was dominant at the free throw line, sinking six of eight attempts.  
  • Bailey Pratt provided some cushion offensively from the perimeter, sinking two threes for the Green and Gold's next highest points on the night.
  • Despite the loss, the Golden Eagles shared the wealth offensively, with 11 of their fourteen players recording points.
  • Julianna Taylor was active from all corners of the floor, posting five points, two assists and six rebounds. Zaria McCullough also added five points of her own as well.
  • The Golden Eagles closed out the night shooting 33% from the floor, 38% from three and 65% from the line.
  • When the Green and Gold's rotation struggled to find offensive opportunities, the bench came in clutch, providing 24 of the teams 52 points.
  • Brockport came out the gate hot recording their strongest performance offensively in the first quarter with 17 points. The team started and ended the game in similar fashion, kicking in a strong defensive effort holding the Bearcats to only nine points in the fourth quarter while posting 12 of their own.

The Golden Eagles are back in action tomorrow for day two of the tournament where they are scheduled to face off with Hartwick College at 4 p.m.
