Sophomore goalie Michael Paglucca (North Reading, MA/New Hampshire Avalanche) registered 36 saves.

Homitz gave Cortland a 1-0 lead at the 18:00 mark of the first period before Thompson tied the game 15 seconds before the first intermission. Alonzi netted the lone second-period goal on a one-time shot at 18:56.

Homitz scored his second goal at 6:17 of the third period, but Clerc made it a 3-2 game at 8:59 when he stuffed in a loose puck in front. Ritchie's one timer at 16:48 put the Red Dragons ahead, 4-2, and Potsdam pulled Paglucca late in the period but the Bears took penalties that forced the goalie back in the net as the Red Dragons earned the 4-2 win.
