BUFFALO, N.Y.— Three players scored in double-figures for Buffalo State, but it was not enough as Cortland connected on 17 3-pointers en route to a 100-73 win over the host Bengals in SUNYAC action this afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Kay Grant (Jamaica/Thomas Jefferson) led the Bengals with 15 points, on 5 of 8 shooting from the floor, to go along with nine rebounds.
  • Sheldon Adams (Rochester/Bishop Kearney) added 12 points on 2 of 5 shooting from distance, while Jordan Christopher (Bronx/Mott Haven Campus) notched his sixth career double-double with 11 points and a team-high 12 rebounds.
  • Cortland sprinted out of the gates by scoring 16 of the first 18 points and held the momentum, by connecting on 12 first-half 3-pointers, to claim a 61-34 halftime lead.
  • Buffalo State rallied to trim the deficit to under 20 points on multiple occasions in the second half, but failed to shift momentum as the Red Dragons cruised for the conference win.
  • Buffalo State outrebounded Cortland 47-39 en route to outscoring the Red Dragons 27-10 in second-chance points.
  • The Red Dragons shot over 56 percent from the floor and held the Bengals to under 30 percent shooting in the game.
