Oneonta pulls away from Men’s Basketball, 88-76

BUFFALO, N.Y.— Four Buffalo State players scored in double-figures, including Sheldon Adams (Rochester/Bishop Kearney) who nearly matched his career high with 30 points on 7 of 11 shooting from distance, but Oneonta used a 26-12 run in the second half to shift momentum en route to an 88-76 victory in SUNYAC action this evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Adams led the Bengals in scoring to go along with seven rebounds and four assists.
  • Kay Grant (Jamaica/Thomas Jefferson) chipped in 12 points and nine rebounds.
  • Jordan Christopher (Bronx/Mott Haven Campus) added 10 points and six rebounds, while Mark Worthy (Williamsville/Williamsville) finished with 10 points on 2 of 4 shooting from behind the 3-point line off of the bench.
  • Buffalo State and Oneonta matched each other point-for-point in the first half, with the Bengals maintaining a slim lead throughout, until the Red Dragons closed on a 19-7 run to claim a 43-41 halftime advantage.
  • The Bengals trimmed the deficit to 54-52 on a 3-pointer by Worthy at the 16:20 mark but failed complete the comeback as Oneonta scored nine of the next 12 points to reclaim the momentum.
