BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The College at Brockport women's basketball team lost a nail biter Saturday afternoon against the New Paltz Hawks, falling by only an eight-point deficit. The Golden Eagles pick up their fifth conference loss to move to 5-9 overall and 2-5 in SUNYAC play.

- The Golden Eagles got off to a hot start offensively, putting the Hawks defense to the test as they executed on eight of 14 attempts in the first quarter alone for a strong 57% shooting.
- With their momentum headed in the right direction, the Green and Gold were able to secure a 20-6 lead through the first 10 minutes.
- The trend continued into the second quarter as the Golden Eagles were able to hold the Hawks to 14 points before the half, opening the deficit to 20.
- The Hawks were held to only 14% shooting through both the first and second quarter, while executing on only four of 28 total attempts.
- The Golden Eagles defense lost some power in the third quarter, allowing the Hawks to sink 27 points to move the game within three.
- The second half was a true battle of the defenses as the score broke even five separate times along with two lead changes.
- Kylee Rosbrook and Julianna Taylor were lights out on both sides of the ball, accounting for 14 and 12 points respectively while each pulling down seven rebounds.
- Rosbrook capped off a successful day shooting four of seven from the floor and six of seven from the free throw line.
- The power of the underclassmen made an appearance in the Golden Eagles matchup, with strong performances by Erin Radack and Chelsea Henry.
- The freshman/sophomore duo sank a combined 15 points while accounting for six total rebounds and five steals.
- The Golden Eagles strength came as a result of a continued push from all areas of the floor, posting 22 points in the paint, 13 points off turnovers, eight fast break points and six second chance points.
- The team also continued to prove themselves at the line, missing only one free throw opportunity all night for a strong 88.9% shooting.
Next Up: After a conference heavy week, the Golden Eagles are only scheduled for one matchup next week. The team will travel to neighboring Geneseo on Saturday for a 2 p.m. start.
