Men’s Basketball falls to Cortland in offensive affair, 107-80

CORTLAND, N.Y.— Jordan Christopher (Bronx/Mott Haven Campus) posted his second career double-double with 14 points and a team-high 11 rebounds, but it wasn't enough as Cortland shot 58 percent from the floor en route to a 107-80 victory over the visiting Bengals in SUNYAC action this evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Kay Grant (Jamaica/Thomas Jefferson) also chipped in 14 points, while finishing 6 for 6 from the charity stripe.
  • Sheldon Adams (Rochester/Bishop Kearney) tallied 13 points and eight rebounds, while Aaron Davis (Beacon/Beacon) added 12 points and five assists.
  • Argjend Imeri (Syracuse/Nottingham) finished with a career-high 11 points.
  • Buffalo State and Cortland matched each other in the opening minutes until the Red Dragons used a 14-5 run to take a 34-21 lead with just under eight minutes left in the first half.
  • The Bengals trimmed the lead back to as little as five points but couldn't shift the momentum as Cortland posted a 52-42 halftime lead.
  • The Red Dragons maintained a double-digit lead from the majority of the second half, including extending it to as many as 27 points, to complete the conference victory.
  • Buffalo State held a 16-9 advantage in second-chance points and shot 42 percent from the floor.
  • Cortland outscored the Bengals 33-23 in bench production and 17-16 in points off of turnovers.
