Women’s Lacrosse Team Opens Season at Potsdam

The Wells College women's lacrosse team opened their season on the road at Potsdam on Wednesday, March 4. Had it not been for the time it took the Express to get their legs going, Wells may have seen a different outcome after palying the Bears in a back-and-forth game for the last 35 minutes that saw Potsdam score just one more goal than Wells.

The opening 25 minutes of the contest favored Potsdam by eight goals and proved to be the difference in dropping the game by a 16-7 score, but the Express netted six to Potsdam's seven during the final 35.

The Express got 10 shots on net in the game and were led by Kari Jensen with three goals and one assist with a team-high six shots. The Express also got goals from Mackenzie Powers, Alisa Hines, Jayla Speers and Aarika Mansfield. Mansfield also added an assist.

Savanah Connors and Julia Bashaw also had assists for the Express, while Delaney Kendrick registered eight saves in net.

The women's lacrosse team next travels to South Carolina to face Salem College on March 11 with a 3:30 p.m. start.
