FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State men's basketball team fell to Oswego, 85-68, Saturday in a SUNYAC matchup.
Tyler Roberts led the Devils with 14 points, including 4-of-5 from three-point land.
Marcus Patterson had 11 points,
Dydy Bryan contributed 10 points and nine assists.
Moussa Samassa chipped in with nine points and nine rebounds.
Fredonia State kept things close early on, leading 12-8 with 14 minutes left to play. Oswego scored the next nine points, and would go on to lead 47-33 by the break.
Oswego's Jermiah Sparks, Julian Crittendon and Joe Sullivan combined for 37 of the Lakers 47 first-half points. The Lakers shot 60 percent from the floor and 4 of 8 from behind the arc in the half.
Tyler Roberts led Fredonia scoring with 8 first half points. The Devils shot a solid 48 percent from the field.
Oswego scored the first five points of the second half to give them their biggest lead of the game at 19 points, 52-33.
Fredonia would whittle the lead down to nine points. Following a layup by
Adam Braniecki and a three pointer by
Marcus Patterson at the 12:35 mark that completed a 15-5 run, Oswego's lead was cut to 57-48.
Oswego came right back with a 10-2 run to thwart the Devils' rally and take control of the game.
Sparks led the Lakers scoring with 23 points, Crittendon had 16, Sullivan had 14, and Louis Fedullo had 10.
Oswego moves to 14-4 on the year and 8-3 in the SUNYAC.
Fredonia State drops to 7-11 and 3-8 in the SUNYAC. They play host to Brockport on Tuesday. Tipoff is slated for 7:30 p.m.
