Men’s Basketball pulls away from Fredonia in SUNYAC opener, 85-74

BUFFALO, N.Y.— Sheldon Adams (Rochester/Bishop Kearney) scored a team-high 21 points to go along with eight assists and seven rebounds to lead Buffalo State to an 85-74 "Battle by the Lake" victory over visiting Fredonia in this afternoon's conference opener.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Adams finished 3 of 8 from distance and 6 of 7 from the charity stripe to lead the Bengals.
  • Kay Grant (Jamaica/Thomas Jefferson) added 15 points, including seven made free-throws, while Aaron Davis (Beacon/Beacon) chipped in 14 points.
  • Jordan Christopher (Bronx/Mott Haven Campus) finished with 13 points and a team-high eight rebounds.
  • Mark Worthy (Williamsville/Williamsville South) scored a career-high 14 points to go along with five rebounds off of the bench.
  • Buffalo State stormed out of the gates by scoring the first five points to take an early lead.
  • Both teams traded runs throughout the remainder of the first half, until a three-point field goal by Adams with two seconds left evened the score at 39-39 at intermission.
