Erin Valente (Latham/Shaker) tallied her third goal of the season as Buffalo State escaped with a 1-0 overtime victory over host New Paltz in SUNYAC action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- New Paltz held a 7-2 shots advantage during the first 45 minutes of action but failed to capitalize as the score remained 0-0 at halftime.
- Buffalo State had multiple chance in the opening minutes of the second frame but timely saves by the Hawks held the deadlock.
- New Paltz continued their offensive pressure for the rest of regulation, outshooting the Bengals 7-3, but six saves from Carillo, including one with 58 seconds remaining, pushed the contest into overtime.
- Buffalo State finally broke through as Valente tallied an unassisted marker in the 98th minute that proved to be the difference.
- Carillo finished with a team-high 10 saves to earn her 21st career shutout that breaks the previous record of 20 set by Sue Hough in 1984.
