OSWEGO, N.Y. – The nationally sixth-ranked Oswego men's hockey team scored four unanswered goals in the third period and earned a 6-3 victory versus Cortland Friday night in the season-opening game for both teams.

Connor Beck (Richmond Hill, ON/Toronto Jr. Canadiens), junior
Logan Blaser (Aurora, ON/Brockville Braves) and sophomore
Jacob Gaydos (Sandusky, OH/Wisconsin Rapid Riverkings) netted the goals for the Red Dragons. Senior
Sean Perichak (Oakville, ON/Markham Royals) registered two assists, while junior
Louis DiMatteo (Nobleton, ON/Trenton Golden Hawks) added an assist. Senior goalie
Nick Modica (Suffern/New Jersey Hitmen) made 47 saves.
Max Novick led the Lakers with two goals and an assist. Mitch Emerson tallied one goal and two assists, and Jody Sullivan, Tyson Kirkby and Colton Fletcher each netted a goal. Carter Allen and Josh Zizek recorded two assists apiece. Goalie David Richer stopped 27 shots.
