Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport men's basketball team extended its winning streak to 12 games Tuesday night with a dominant 104-57 win over Fredonia. Brockport is now 19-3 overall, 14-1 in SUNYAC competition, and remains undefeated at 10-0 at home.
The Golden Eagles set several season-highs in the contest, which includes making 16 3-pointers. This mark is tied for second most ever in a single game in program history.
The team also finished with a season high of 104 points, 27 assists, 19 steals, a field goal percentage of 59.6%, and a three-point shooting percentage of 57.1%. Securing a 47-point margin of victory on the night is also a season-best.
Eight different players scored at least eight points in the game, with five scorers reaching double figures.
Tyler Sullivan put up a game-high 16 points on a healthy 5-for-6 shooting in the win, including four shots from beyond the arc.
Monte Stroman and
Antonio Alvarez combined for 28 points and seven made shots from long range.
Jahidi Wallace and
Tyree Grimsley shot a combined 9-for-10 from the floor, scoring 12 and 11 points respectively.
Tyler Collins tallied eight points, six assists, five rebounds, and five steals.
Devante Hagins also had six assists (season-high) to go with his four points and four boards. Freshman
Joseph Pena went 2-for-3 from distance to post a career-high eight points.
The Green and Gold took control of the game early on and did not slow down. Fredonia led for the first 25 seconds of the game after opening the contest with a quick 3-pointer, but it was all Brockport for the remainder of the 40 minutes.
The team tied its highest single half scoring output of the season in the first half with 51 points. The Golden Eagles then followed up with an even better offensive performance in the second half, totaling 53 points in the second. 10 of the team's 16 made 3-pointers came in the second. Brockport completed the season sweep of Fredonia with a 47-point blowout.
Fredonia is now 7-15 overall and 3-12 in the conference. The Blue Devils committed 28 turnovers as a team, and they were led in scoring by Moussa Samassa's nine points.
The Golden Eagles are back in action on Saturday for their final home game of the regular season. They welcome Geneseo for Senior Day, with tip-off scheduled for 4 pm.
