WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - The baseball team provided head coach Lynn Carlson with his 500th career win after a come-from-behind effort that saw them tie the game with two outs in the top of the ninth on an error and then take the victory with a four run 10th inning.

In 24 years at the helm of the Panthers, Carlson continues to set milestones that may never be surpassed by a Greenville University coach. He holds the record for wins by a head baseball coach by more than 200 victories, and he also has the most wins in a single sport by a head coach with a coaching tenure at Greenville University.

Greenville fell behind early after they surrendered two runs in Oneonta's opening inning and trailed 4-0 after the fifth.

The Panthers scored four times in the top of the sixth. Ryan Taylor trotted home on a passed ball, and Sam Hodges hit a ball to centerfield that was dropped. With two outs and the bases loaded, Mark Islas delivered a two-run single to tie the game.

In the top of the seventh, GU scored two runs on a hard hit ball by Hodges that hit the pitcher.

Oneonta regained the lead with three runs in the bottom of the seventh, and the Panthers rallied to tie the score in the top of the ninth.

Greenville put the game away with a four run 10th inning.

Drew Frey ended with a 4-for-5 hitting performance and scored four runs.

Ty Maxie, Islas, and Ryan Taylor all had two hits.

Reliever Parker Lutz threw a scoreless ninth inning to earn the win.

Starting pitcher Klaiton Wolff went six innings and gave up four runs on six hits with seven strikeouts.

The Panthers (2-8-1) continue their spring trip with a doubleheader against Suffolk at Pat Thomas Stadium in Leesburg on Thursday.
