POTSDAM, N.Y. – The Potsdam Bears led wire-to-wire in holding off the Lakers by a score of 77-67 on Friday night in North Country. This was a battle of two of the top teams in the SUNYAC as the defending-Champion Lakers came in at 5-2 in the league while Potsdam was 6-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Oswego played from behind right from the get-go as Potsdam pushed out to an 18-10 lead seven minutes into the contest.
- Senior Brandan Gartland cut it to 23-19 with three buckets from distance with 9:45 on the clock.
- The Bears answered with a 9-2 run for an 11-point lead with four minutes remaining in the half.
- A pair of layups from fellow senior Joe Sullivan helped the Lakers cut the deficit to 37-29 at the half.
- Sophomore Bo Sireika hit a pair of threes in the opening five minutes of the second half to keep Oswego in at 52-45.
- It was a Potsdam Blitzkreig over the next four minutes as they went on a 17-2 run to go up 69-47 with 11 minutes to go and virtually ice the outcome.
- Senior Tim Marshall hit a trio of 3-pointers in the final five minutes as Oswego made a run, but the comeback ran out of time.
- Gartland led Oswego with 13 points and Sullivan had 12.
- Potsdam had a 41.5%-37.5% edge in shooting percentage and won the battle of the boards, 46-39.
- The Lakers hit 12 3-pointers while attempting 35 of them, just four off the school record in attempts from distance.
