Oswego's Enos Repeats as Academic All-American

Oswego Sports Information Department

OSWEGO, N.Y. - Junior infielder Ryan Enos - of the baseball team - has earned First Team Academic All-America honors for the second straight season as announced today by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).  This is the third Academic All-America honor for Oswego State athletes, with former baseball standout Dan Saccocio adding First Team accolades back in 2015 to Enos' pair of awards.

Enos is one of four members of the 2020 Academic All-America Division III baseball teams (33 total members) that has a perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point average.  The Oriskany, N.Y. native is a dual major in Wellness Management and Business Administration and is one of nine repeat award winners.  In the SUNYAC, Enos has been a member of the Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll in each year as a Laker.

The third baseman had a breakout campaign in 2019 with First Team All-SUNYAC honors, the SUNYAC Championship Most Valuable Player award, and spots on both the ABCA/Rawlings and D3Baseball.com All-Region teams.  He ranked inside the top-five of 13 statistical categories in the SUNYAC. During league play, the sophomore led all batters with 26 hits, nearly half of his total output for the season. Of those 13 categories, Enos paced the Lakers in five: batting average (.356), runs (47), hits (58), doubles (14) and total bases (89).

The baseball team has won the last three SUNYAC Championships and was off to a 6-3 start this season, with two of those setbacks to teams ranked inside the top-10 nationally.
