Phelps helped the Knights to a dual meet victory over conference rival Cortland. He earned a first-place finish in the 100 fly, posting the second-fastest time in the SUNYAC this season (51.97). He added a the conference's fastest time in the 200 free, finishing first with a mark of 1:46.11. He also swam the opening leg for the Knights' first-place 200 medley relay, which finished in 1:36.64, and the 400 free relay (3:15.26).
