SUNYAC selects track & field athletes of the week

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) honors four track & field athletes for outstanding performances during the week of April 17-23.

Men's Track & Field – Field Athlete of the Week - Jon Rogers, Brockport
(Sr., Throws - Averill Park, N.Y.)
Rogers had a great showing at the Cortland Classic this weekend. Rogers won the shot put, reaching 16.90-meters. The senior also finished first in the discus throw, with a toss of 48.35-meters and placed second in the hammer throw, tossing a distance of 50.72-meters.

Men's Track & Field – Track Athlete of the Week - Isaac Garcia-Cassani, Geneseo
(SUNY Geneseo, - Holbrook, N.Y.)
Garcia-Cassani set a SUNYAC record with a sixth-place finish in the 5,000 at the Larry Ellis Invitational, hosted by Princeton, Friday. The top Division III finisher in a field comprised of DI, DII, DIII and open competitors, he crossed the finish line with the third-fasest time (14:16.80) in Division III this season. 

Women's Track & Field – Field Athlete of the Week - Victoire Kothor, Brockport
(Jr., Throws - Greece, N.Y.)
Victoire Kothor had a strong showing at the Cortland Classic winning both the discus throw, with a toss of 42.44-meters and the shot put event reaching 14.07-meters which is a new conference record. The junior also earned a second place finish in the hammer throw, with a toss of 50.12-meters.

Women's Track & Field – Track Athlete of the Week - Sara Rosenzweig, Geneseo
(Senior, - Merrick, N.Y.)
Rosenzweig posted the second-fastest steeplechase time in Division III this season at the Larry Ellis Invitational, hosted by Princeton, Friday. Placing 14th in a field made up of DI, DII, DIII and open runners, Rosenzweig crossed the finish line with a 10:42.97 clocking that stands fourth in program history.
