BUFFALO, N.Y. - Buffalo State defeated Geneseo, 1-0, to capture its first-ever State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Women's Soccer Championship Saturday at Coyer Field.  

The SUNYAC Tournament Most Valuable Player, Melissa Smith scored the lone goal to give her team the win and an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.

Tara Carillo had three saves for the Bengals in goal.
