CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Women's Cross Country Senior Spolight is on New Paltz's Cassandra Williams this week.
The Mathematics major from Hopewell Junction ran her way into the SUNYAC Cross Country Hall of Fame last season after finishing fourth overall at the conference championship meet. Williams is a two-time All-SUNYAC selection, earning first team honors last year, and was an All-Region recipient after placing 16th overall at the Atlantic Regional meet where she qualified for her first NCAA National championship race. She is a two-time SUNYAC Elite-20 recipient and was named as the SUNYAC Scholar Athlete of the Year last season. She has been on the SUNYAC Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll each of her first three seasons and was enshrined into the Chi Alpha Sigma National Honor Society last spring.
