ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College Women's Volleyball wrapped up a busy weekend on Saturday as they hosted Suffolk University and SUNY Oswego for a tri-match.
The Gators fell in the opener of the day in three sets to Suffolk, with scores of 25-23, 25-19, and 25-21. SUNY Oswego also took down RSC in three sets in the night cap (25-14, 26-24, 25-23).
Senior outside hitter Macey Salvione (Johnstown, NY/Gloversville), who began the week ranked second in the Empire 8 Conference with 3.92 kills per-set, led all Gators in the stat on Saturday, registering 23 throughout the six sets.
Junior outside hitter Ashleigh Gerkman (Valatie, NY/Ichabod Crane) and junior middle hitter Aniyah Kelley (Newcastle, DE/William Penn) each finished the day with double-digit kills, registering 15 and 14 respectively.
Salvione also topped RSC in the digs category, tallying 20 on Saturday. Setter Emma Rainville (Castleton, NY/Columbia/Binghamton), a grad student, added 19 digs, while senior libero Katelyn Atchinson (Alplaus, NY/Niskayuna/Saint Rose) contributed 14.
RSC (6-6) is back on the court on Wednesday evening at Bard.
