ECAC Picks Three SUNYAC Athletes of the Week

The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has selected --- State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Athletes of the Week as its players of the week for the week ending April 27.

Baseball Pitcher of the Week

Sean Larson – Fredonia State
Senior, Angola, NY

Larson tossed a pair of nine-inning, complete-game victories over a pair of conference teams this past week. On Saturday, he threw a six hitter in a 3-1 win over No. 6 Cortland State. Prior to that, on Monday, he spun a four-hit shutout over Oneonta. His totals were 18 innings pitched, 2-0 record, 2 complete games, 0.50 ERA ,13 strikeouts, 2 walks and 10 hits. Larson lowered his SUNYAC-leading ERA to 1.14.

Offensive Player of the Week

Emily Haggerty – SUNY Geneseo
Senior, Midfield, Syracuse, NY

Haggerty had a huge week in leading the Knights to three crucial SUNYAC victories (all on the road) that clinched Geneseo the second seed for the upcoming conference tournament. After compiling 5 goals, 1 assist, 11 draw controls and 5 ground balls in a victory at Buffalo State, she totaled a game-high 2 goals and 1 assist as the Knights defeated No. 19 Brockport. Both her goals came in the final eight minutes as Geneseo pulled away down the stretch. Haggerty finished the week with five goals in Geneseo's 18-3 victory at New Paltz on Saturday.

Offensive Player of the Week

Tim Lawrence – Plattsburgh State
Senior, Attack, Kings Park, NY

Lawrence contributed 13 points to help Plattsburgh State to a 2-0 week in the final two games of the regular season. On Wednesday in a 22-4 win over Oneonta, Lawrence netted four goals to become the fifth player in program history to score 100 career goals. Lawrence followed that up with a nine-point performance in Saturday's 18-11 victory against Brockport. He tallied five goals, including four consecutive goals in the fourth quarter, and added four assists. Lawrence ranks third in the league with 22 points in conference play.
