2017 SUNYAC Men's Lacrosse Coaches' Preseason Poll Announced

CORTLAND, NY- The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announces the first Men's Lacrosse Preseason Coaches' Poll for the 2017 spring season. Cortland is the favorite to win this year's SUNYAC Championship, receiving all seven first place votes , tallying 49 points.

This season, Steve Beville looks to coach the Red Dragons to their ninth straight and 25th overall conference championship. Last year, Cortland garnished a perfect 6-0 conference record along with a faultless 2-0 record in the SUNYAC tournament. Prior to the 2017 season, Cortland is ranked 18th in the nation by the USILA Coaches poll.

The Plattsburgh Cardinals have been voted second by the coaches with a total of 38 votes. Last season, the Cardinals finished with a 4-2 conference record. In the conference tournament, they were edged by Brockport 7-6. Coach Joe May looks to lead his team to their first ever conference title this season.

Brockport finished third in the poll with 37 points. Last year the Golden Eagles hosted their first-ever SUNYAC playoff contest by earning the two seed, after posting a 4-2 regular season conference record.
