SUNYAC MEN'S OUTSTANDING SWIMMER AND DIVER OF THE YEAR AWARDS ANNOUNCED

CORTLAND, N.Y. – The award winners for the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Outstanding Swimmer and Diver of the Year  were nominated by coaches based on their performances throughout the season including the SUNYAC Championship meet and NCAA Championships. The 2015-16 Outstanding Male Swimmer of the Year is Connor Mergler (Buffalo State) and the Outstanding Male Diver of the Year is Samuel Randall (Geneseo).

Outstanding Male Swimmer of the Year 
At the SUNYAC championships Connor Mergler broke the conference and meet record in the 50 yard free (:20.25) and the 100 yard free (:44.30). Weeks later at the NCAA championships, he finished fourth overall in the 100 yard free (44.30) and earned three All-America honors. Mergler broke the conference record again in the 50 yard free swimming it in :20.25 in the NCAA prelims.

Outstanding Male Diver of the Year 
At the SUNYAC championships Samuel Randall broke the conference and meet record as he won the title in the 1-meter dive with a score of 568.45. He also finished second in the 3-meter. At the NCAA Division III Championships, Randall won the national title in the 3-meter dive with a score of 533.75. He also finished third in the 1-meter board with a score of 519.75. Randall is the first national champion in Geneseo swimming & diving history.
