BUFFALO, N.Y. - Geneseo won its 16th straight and 31st overall SUNYAC women's swimming and diving championship, Saturday at the at the Burt Flickinger Aquatic Center at Erie Community College (ECC). Cortland finished second and Brockport was third.

1650 freestyle - Hannah Brockman, Geneseo, 17:29.12

200 backstroke - Sinead Devaney, Geneseo, 2:09.03

100 freestyle - Alex Sotek, Geneseo, 51.41

200 breaststroke - Emily Thomas, Geneseo, 2:24.73

200 butterfly - Alise Hale, Geneseo, 2:05.39

3 Meter Dive - Kyra Russ, Brockport, 476.10

400 freestyle relay - Alex Sotek, Amaya DiGiovanni, Madi Sargent and Kenzie Fischer, Geneseo, 3:29.39

Record Breakers

Alise Hale, from Geneseo, broke the SUNYAC meet and conference records in the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:05.39.

All-Conference

The All-Conference first, second and third teams consist of the top three finishers in each event.

Outstanding Swimmer of the Meet - Alex Sotek, Geneseo

Swimming Coaching Staff of the Year - Geneseo

Diving Coach of the Year - Scott Horsington, Brockport

Grace Mowatt Award - Amaya DiGiovanna, Geneseo

The James Fulton and Grace Mowatt Awards are given annually to a senior male and female swimmer/diver based on the following criteria: All America honors, All-SUNYAC honors, improvement throughout collegiate career and academic achievement. Grace Mowatt was an associate professor of Physical Education and the women's swimming and diving coach for 30 years at Oswego before retiring in 1993. In 1996 she won the Ft. Lauderdale and Boca Raton one mile ocean swim for her age group. (First award given in 1996-97). 

Elite 20

The SUNYAC Elite 20, an award modeled after the NCAA ELITE 90 program, recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the conference championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers. This year New Paltz's Angelina Somma was honored. She is an adolescence education, social studies major with a 4.0 overall GPA.
