SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The SUNYAC selects Jonthomas Bierman from Oneonta and Zach Nyhart from Cortland as the first 2023 Men's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week.

Junior Bierman posted an AARTFC qualifying time in his first time running the 3,000-meter steeplechase at Saturday's Hamilton Invitational. He won the race with a time of 9:41.48, which was 25 seconds faster than the second-place finisher. Bierman also helped the Oneonta 4x800 to a first-place finish with a time of 8:54.00.

Nyhart won the pole vault in a field of 26 competitors at the Widener University Danny Curran Invitational. His height of 4.70 meters (15' 5") currently ranks 12th nationally in Division III, first in the SUNYAC and third in the AARTFC.
