Morse and Hughes Tabbed SUNYAC Men's Track & Field Athletes of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Cortland's Brett Morse and Amarian Hughes have been selected this week's SUNYAC Men's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week.

Morse won the 110-meter hurdles at the Cortland Classic with a time of 14.36 seconds, and his preliminary time of 14.31 seconds ranks first in the SUNYAC and tied for sixth nationally in Division III as of late Saturday night. Morse also finished fifth in the 200-meter dash (21.94) and won the long jump (7.12 meters/23' 4.5"). All of his performances are All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) qualifiers.

Hughes broke a 40-year-old school record in the triple jump with his winning leap of 15.19 meters (49' 10") at the Cortland Classic. He broke the previous record of 15.13 meters set by Mark Therrien in 1983. Hughes, as of late Saturday night, ranked second nationally in Division III with the effort.
