Plattsburgh Preseason Favorite in 2023-24 SUNYAC Coaches Poll

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Plattsburgh is No. 1 in the inaugural SUNYAC women's ice hockey preseason poll as voted on by the conference coaches. Cortland is No. 2 while Oswego is ranked third.

Buffalo State, Cortland, Oswego, Plattsburgh and Potsdam competed in the Northeast Women's Hockey League (NEWHL) since 2017 and Morrisville and Canton joined in 2019. The seven teams will compete for the first time under the SUNYAC this season.

In 2023, Plattsburgh won its fifth-straight NEWHL title as the top seed in the tournament and ended 26-3 overall. Cortland was the second seed in the NEWHL at the completion of the 2022-23 regular season. The Red Dragons finished 20-7-0 overall after losing to the Cardinals in the championship game. Oswego was No. 3 in the league after regular season play and ended its season 14-11-1.
