O'Brien, Goergen and Lenihan Take SUNYAC Women's Ice Hockey Weekly Awards

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The SUNYAC picks Cortland's Natalie O'Brien and Molly Goergen as the Women's Ice Hockey Player and Goaltender of the Week repectively and Canton's Molly Lenihan the Rookie of the Week.

O'Brien scored the game-winning goal with 15 seconds left in regulation as nationally 12th-ranked Cortland upset second-ranked Plattsburgh, 3-2. O'Brien also scored Cortland's lone goal in a 3-1 loss to the Cardinals the previous day.

Goergen posted a 2.53 GAA, .925 save percentage and 62 total saves in a two-game weekend home series versus second-ranked Plattsburgh. On Saturday she made 30 saves in a 3-2 win for the Red Dragons, and she stopped 32 shots the previous day in a 3-1 loss, with two of Plattsburgh's three goals coming on the power play.

Lenihan stopped 19 of the 20 shots she faced (.950 save %) as the only goal she allowed was with 19 seconds left in a 3-1 road win at Buffalo State in the Roos lone game of the week. She stopped 17 total shots over the first two periods as Canton kept their playoff hopes alive heading to the final weekend of the regular season.
