AUSTIN, Texas – Senior outside hitter Becca Borquist (Rhinebeck, N.Y./Rhinebeck) from the State University of New York at New Paltz women's volleyball team was chosen to the 2015 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America Division III Volleyball Third Team, as announced Tuesday by CoSIDA.

Borquist, a three-time CoSIDA Academic All-District honoree, becomes just the fourth Academic All-America selection in the history of New Paltz Athletics, joining Liz Hauser (women's volleyball, 2013), Katie Becofsky (women's volleyball, 2007) and John Hauser (men's basketball, 2007). Borquist is the third Academic All-American under the guidance of 14th-year head coach Matt Giufre.

Borquist boasts a 3.72 cumulative grade-point average as a secondary education major with a concentration in history. Academically, she has been named to SUNYAC All-Academic Team on three occasions and has made the SUNYAC Commissioner's List twice.

This season, Borquist earned her third straight American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-America honor and her third straight AVCA All-Region recognition. In addition, Borquist earned at least a share of State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Player of the Year honors for the second consecutive season in 2015. She has earned All-SUNYAC honors during all four years of her career at New Paltz, and during her freshman season in 2012, she was named the SUNYAC East Division Rookie of the Year. Borquist was a key member of the Hawks' 2014 SUNYAC championship team, as she was named the SUNYAC Tournament MVP for her efforts throughout the tournament.

Borquist ranked second in the SUNYAC in kills per set (3.62) and eighth in the conference in service aces per set (0.44) in 2015 while also averaging 2.91 digs per set. She etched her name in numerous places in the program's career record book, ranking second all-time in kills (1,744), fourth all-time in digs (1,647) and fifth all-time in service aces (200). Borquist is one of just two student-athletes in program history to register at least 1,500 kills and 1,500 digs, with Belgica Santana also achieving the feat from 1997-99. A 2012 graduate of Rhinebeck High School, she is the daughter of Dana and Donna Borquist.

The Academic All-America teams are selected from the pool of Academic All-District First Team members across CoSIDA's eight regions.

New Paltz finished its season at 22-11 overall and 8-1 in SUNYAC play, making the SUNYAC Tournament final for the third consecutive season and qualifying for the SUNYAC Tournament for the 12th straight year.
