SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The SUNYAC recognizes Cortland's Matthew Krafft and Will McCarthy as the first Baseball Athlete and Pitcher of the Week for the 2023 season.

Krafft batted .556 (5-for-9) with a walk, hit-by-pitch, two RBI, three runs and a .636 on-base percentage in three games to open the season. He was 3-for-4 with two RBI in a 16-1 win over Widener University Saturday and was a combined 2-for5 with a walk in a doubleheader Sunday versus nationally top-ranked Salisbury University.

McCarthy earned the win in Cortland's 16-1 season-opening win versus Widener University Saturday. He allowed two hits and two walks and struck out one in three scoreless innings.
