SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The SUNYAC picks Potsdam teammates Payton Walsh and Saka Thompson as this week's Men's Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Athletes of the Week.

Walsh repeats as the SUNYAC Men's Lacrosse Athlete of the Week after he registered 19 points on 11 goals and eight assists in two victories for Potsdam this week. He scored a career-high seven goals in a 16-2 win over Canton on Tuesday night. The midfielder then added a career-high 11 points on four goals and seven assists in a 21-9 victory over Oneonta in the Bears' SUNYAC opener on Sunday. He now ranks fifth on the program's scoring list and fourth on the goals list. Walsh currently leads the conference in goals (28) and points (45).

Thompson is named the Defensive Athlete of the Week for the second time this season after he made a career-high 23 saves in a 21-9 victory over Oneonta in the Bears' SUNYAC opener. He finished the game with a 71.9 save percentage.
