CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected Fredonia freshman Sarah Bunk as its Women's Tennis Singles Athlete of the Week and seniors Lauren Salzano and Anika Pornpitaksuk of Geneseo as its Doubles Team of the Week.

In her first collegiate competition, Bunk looked like a polished veteran. She won all four of her singles matches on the opening weekend of the 2017 season, with the first two in convincing fashion. In her two matches on Friday at home she won them both 6-0 vs. D'Youville. On Saturday she kept the momentum going by taking both matches at Cortland, 6-4 and 6-3, to start off her college tennis career at 4-0. 

The reigning SUNYAC Doubles Team of the Year from Geneseo, Salzano and Pornpitaksuk, started this season's campaign right where they left off. They swept Oswego in convincing fashion combining for an 8-1 victory. This duo went undefeated in conference play last year finishing with a 14-5 record.
