EAST LANSING, Mich. - SUNY Geneseo seniors Windsor Ardner and Kathleen McCarey each finished in the top-10 to earn All-American honors as the Knights took fifth as a team in the NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country Championship on Saturday afternoon in East Lansing. 

Ardner led the way with an eighth-place finish, crossing in 22:10.6 to earn her second-consecutive women's cross country All-America honor. McCarey followed shortly behind, crossing in 22:12.2 for a 10th place finish. It marked her second-consecutive cross country All-America award as well. Erin Eivers finished 44th overall with a time of 22:47.5 while Lilly Fowler-Conner placed 91st with a finishing time of 23:23.1. First-year Sierra Doody cracked the top-100 finishers with a 23:31.5 finishing time for 93rd place while Marcie Hogan (23:31.5, 109th) and Rachel Hirschkind (23:32.6, 111th) finished out the Knights' seven racers. 

Geneseo held first place through the first mile with all seven runners in the top-50, but couldn't hold their lead as Johns Hopkins earned its second-straight national championship. The Knights earned 198 points, finishing behind Hopkins, Chicago, Wartburg and Carleton. Geneseo placed just in front of Washington (Mo.) and MIT while St. Olaf, Williams and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps closed out the top-10.
