Oswego Facts

Oswego State, which was founded in 1861, sponsors 24 NCAA Division III men's and women's sports. The school enrolls 7,400 people, approximately 430 of which hold the title student-athlete as well. Over the years, those teams and student-athletes have accumulated 44 conference championship titles and have appeared in the NCAA Championship 64 times. In 2007, the Lakers captured their first ever NCAA DIII title as the men's ice hockey team defeated Middlebury in the National Championship game. Oswego State has also produced 61 All-Americans, hailing from 11 different teams. Aside from the accomplishments of the athlete's, the campus itself boasts numerous athletic facilities including a newly built, 1,000-seat turf stadium, a renovated field house which hosts a four-lane track and four tennis courts and a 3,000 spectator ice arena.
