Conference Names Players of the Week

 

The SUNYAC players of the week encompass all games from December 13 to January 2. The conference is recognizing men's ice hockey and men's and women's basketball this week. Swimming and diving and indoor track and field weekly honors will resume on January 17th.
 
ICE HOCKEY PLAYER - Plattsburgh
Patrick Jobb, sophomore forward

Patrick Jobb (Oshawa, ONT/Cobourg Cougars) tallied a hat trick and an assist to lead the Cardinals to a 7-1 win over Curry, securing Plattsburgh's spot in the championship game of the Cardinal Classic. Plattsburgh went on to win the championship game 2-1 over #11 Neumann to start the new year. Jobb was also named to the 2011 Cardinal Classic All-Tournament Team.
 
ICE HOCKEY GOALIE - Plattsburgh
Josh Leis, sophomore goalie

Sophomore Josh Leis (Kitchener, ONT/Listowl Cyclones) led Plattsburgh to the Cardinal Classic Championship with a strong performance between the pipes. Following a 24 saves night against Curry, Leis only allowed one goal against nationally-ranked #11 Neumann and earned Tournament MVP honors.

MEN'S BASKETBALL - Cortland
Harrison Hefele, sophomore guard

Cortland sophomore Harrison Hefele (Greenlawn, NY/Friends Academy) registered career highs of 18 points and seven rebounds on his way to earning SUNYAC men's basketball player of the week honors. He connected on 5-of-10 shots from behind the three-point arc in Cortland's 68-75 loss at SUNYIT on Dec. 18.
 
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL - New Paltz
Shanay Bradley, junior forward

Junior forward Shanay Bradley (Bronx, N.Y./New Explorers) paced the Hawk attack in a 63-50 non-conference win over Montclair State on Dec. 13. Bradley shot a perfect 6-of-6 from the field and tacked on two free throws to total 14 points. Bradley's line also included team-best figures in rebounds (9) and blocks (4) as well as two steals.
