Senior Jean Farrell (Rochester, NY/Penfield) of The College at Brockport Softball team tied a single game school record 16 strikeouts to earn the ECAC Upstate Division III Pitcher of the Week award.
In a 1-0, two-hit victory over the University of Rochester, Farrell struck out 16 batters to tie the school record. Farrell followed up her performance with an eight-strikeout, complete game victory over Fredonia on Friday. On Saturday, Farrell tossed five scoreless innings to earn her 12th victory of the year. During the week, Farrell went 3-0 with 28 strikeouts and 1.11 ERA while allowing just three walks to help the Golden Eagles clinch a playoff berth in the SUNYAC Tournament.
Brockport will travel to Cortland on Thursday to take on the No. 2 seed Plattsburgh Cardinals at 11:00 am in the first round of the SUNYAC Tournament.
