SUNYAC selects first Men's Swimming and Diving Athletes of the Week

CORTLAND, N.Y.- The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has made its first selections for Men's Swimmer and Diver of the Week for the 2017-18 season.  

Oswego's Daniel Rodriguez had an exellent performance in the Lakers' first two meets of the season to earn swimmer of the week. The sophomore, orginally from Madrid, Spain, was able to pick up a victories in the 500 and 1,000 yard freestyle and a second place finish in the 200 yard freestyle to propel Oswego to a 122-119 win over R.I.T.  In the second meet of the season, Rodriguez repeated his success, winning the 500 and 1,000 free again in a 139-92 victory over conference rival Oneonta.   

This week's Diver of the Week is Fredonia's Christian Krasnek (Springville, N.Y.). The sophomore was able to capture the Blue Devils' sole win in a meet with Niagara with a score of 233.05 in the 1 meter dive. Krasnek also grabbed a second-place finish in the 3 meter dive with a score of 235.60.  Fredonia came up short against the Division 1 Purple Eagles, 120-100.
