Aimee Kellicutt Earns Top All-District Academic Honor

POTSDAM, N.Y. -- SUNY Potsdam senior Aimee Kellicutt has been selected to the 2010-11 Capital One Academic All-District 1 Women's Basketball first team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the organization announced February 3 as it released its academic all-district basketball teams.

A Lisle, N.Y., native, Kellicutt currently maintains a 4.0 cumulative grade point average and is majoring in chemical engineering. As a first-team all-district member, Kellicutt is eligible for selection on the Capital One Academic All-America team.

Kellicutt, a point guard and two-year starter, currently leads the team in points per game (10.6) and assists (55), and also leads the team and is second in the State University of New York Athletic Conference with 46 steals. A captain, she is one of just two seniors on this season's Potsdam squad.
A transfer from Broome Community College, Kellicutt has been an integral member of the Bears since her arrival in the fall of 2009.

"Aimee is picking it up on the court recently with a couple of 20-point games," Potsdam coach Tara Ruckh said. "She works hard in all aspects of life, whether it's in the classroom or in a shooting drill during practice. She is very deserving of this honor."

Kellicutt is the lone representative of the SUNYAC on this year's all-district teams. CoSIDA's College District 1 covers all NCAA Division II and III, NAIA, Canadian and two-year institutions in New York as well as six other states and five Canadian provinces.
