SUNY Cortland junior guard Brittany Cohen (Fayetteville/Jamesville-DeWitt) has been selected to the 2010-11 D3hoops.com women’s basketball All-East Region first team. Cohen was one of five players from the region chosen to the all-region first team and is now eligible for D3hoops.com All-America honors.
The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Player of the Year, Cohen led the Red Dragons this season with 15.3 points and 6.1 assists per game. She also averaged 2.6 rebounds and nearly two steals per contest. She shot 40 percent from the floor, 33 percent from three-point range (54-of-164) and 79 percent from the foul line (102-of-130).
A transfer from Onondaga Community College in her first season with the Red Dragons, Cohen ranked seventh nationally in Div. III, and first in the SUNYAC, in assists per game. She finished second in the SUNYAC in scoring and third in free throw percentage.
Joining Cohen on the All-East first team are guards Melissa Alwardt of Rochester and Brittany Parks of Vassar, along with forwards Jessica Berry of Utica and Kristen Kush of William Smith.
