SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The SUNYAC releases its 2024 baseball preseason poll with Cortland voted No. 1 followed by Brockport and Oswego. The poll is voted on by the league coaches.
Cortland finished the 2023 regular season No. 1 to host the SUNYAC championship double elimination tournament. The Red Dragons were defeated in the title game by Brockport, 12-9, in 10 innings. Cortland earned an at-large bid and hosted the NCAA Regional championship series where they went 2-2 and ended their season 34-13 overall.
Brockport won the 2023 SUNYAC championship title as the No. 2 seed. The win marked the program's sixth conference baseball crown and the first since 2010. The Golden Eagles advanced to the NCAA tournament and went 1-2 to finish their season 29-18 overall.
In 2023, Oswego was the fourth seed after SUNYAC regular season play and went 1-2 in the double elimination conference tournament. This season, the Lakers will compete to win their 16th overall league title and first since 2019.
2024 regular season conference games will start March 22 and the SUNYAC baseball championship is set for May 9-11 at the top seed.
