Traudt and Mordecki Earn SUNYAC Baseball Weekly Honors

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The SUNYAC recognizes Brockport's Cole Traudt and Plattsburgh's Kolby Mordecki as this week's Baseball Athlete of the Week and Pitcher of the Week respectively.

Traudt showed up and showed out in Brockport's doubleheader against St. Lawrence this past weekend. Across eight at bats the sophomore had six hits, which included a triple, two doubles, and two home runs. In game one of the set he went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and three RBIs. In the bottom of the seventh, he hit a 3-run, walk-off homer to give the Golden Eagles a 6-5 victory. In game two of the doubleheader he went 3-for-4 once again with two runs, four RBIs, and two more extra base hits. He connected for a triple and another 3-run homer to spark a 7-1 victory to help Brockport complete the sweep over St. Lawrence.

Mordecki picked up his first win of the season on Saturday, as he helped the Cardinals to a 9-2 win over CCNY. The junior right-hander went five scoreless innings for Plattsburgh and allowed just three batters to reach base, all while striking out seven batters. The outing lowered his season ERA to 4.50, as he registered the longest scoreless outing of his career.
